Servicing Electronic Equipment, Benefits
Like a well performing vehicle, every now and then it’s good for your equipment to get a checkup to make sure that everything is running as it should be.
The procedures can vary for what is tested during a service, however the following is pretty standard for all:
Full clean internally and externally
Cleaning of all pots and switches with DeOxit Cleaner
Checking visually components, for both mechanical and electrical issues
Testing signal quality
Checking common features are all working
Testing electrical parameters such as Bias, Supply voltages
Electrically testing components for wear and drifting of value
For amplifiers we load test them using our workshop load testing facilities to make sure they reach a suitable output.
What is not checked
While we try to check most functions of equipment it’s impossible for us to check every function, level and switch. We therefore take a general working approach of powering up, general channel changing, overall levels. Like taking your car for a service, the garage doesn’t check the boot light or heating to make sure the temperature matches the temperature dial.

What our Customers Say
Ed Thomas
Sickamps fixed my aging and very ill oberheim matrix 1000 synth. It went from being an electric shock risk, back to centre stage in my set up. Sickamps also fixed some cosmetic issues on the front panel, which was way above and beyond. Excellent service, great communication. Great prices. I highly recommend - 14/05/2025read moreread less×Ed Thomas- 14/05/2025Sickamps fixed my aging and very ill oberheim matrix 1000 synth.
