How we respond to data breaches

The moment we are made aware of a breach we will take the website and all access to customer information offline. Being made aware of a breach may be by being told by a customer, being reported by the hosting company of a breach, our own due diligence on monitoring firewalls and protection systems in place.

We will establish the source of the breach before brining anything back online and put in robust measures to ensure no further details can be breached.

It will be established the scale of breach and the expected number of details exposed including the following investigation:

•The data involved

•Whether the data involved is sensitive in nature

•The individuals affected

•The security measures that are in place to protect the data

•What has happened to the data

•Whether the data involved could be used in an illegal or otherwise inappropriate way

•Any perceived wider consequences associated with the breach or incident

Upon completion of our assessment we will review how the incident occurred and put in measures to prevent a further breach.

Users suspected to have had their details breached will be notified to the extent of the data discolosed.

Each breach will be treated on a case by case matter.

Evaluation after event

After the data breach or data security incident has been contained by carrying out all necessary measures, Sickamps will conduct an extensive review detailing:

•The cause(s) of the breach

•The effectiveness of any responses

•Whether changes to existing IT systems, company procedures or policies must be implemented
